We established that there was a definite need for a purer looking collection, that didn't ignore the classic heritage of Papell, and its end user. The idea came from when I was out walking, a wooden lollipop stick was semi submerged in soil, I remember thinking that could be a nice detail againsed leather or fabric, I began playing about with the idea, giving the stick some 3d elements. The evolution came very quickly, the idea was very square at first then chamfering the base upholstery gave it a unique looking form. By doming the seat and back cushions the product began to look pure with a soft inviting look.
